A Natrona County man has admitted to touching a minor inappropriately.

Allen Winchester has pleaded guilty to one charge of third degree sexual abuse of a minor.

Casper police say in December, Winchester voluntarily told detectives what he had done, saying the incident happened about three-to-four years ago.

He was living with his girlfriend in Mills, and admitted to touching one of her then-13 year old daughters, but when she reported it to her mother, Winchester claimed the victim was dreaming.

Police then interviewed the victim who recalled the incident.

A report had been taken by Mills police at the time, and when asked why Winchester lied, he said he did not want to get into trouble and was trying to change his life.

He added that he could not stop doing drugs, because of the sex acts, and if he had not gone to Casper Police to report what he had done, he probably would have killed himself.

As part of a plea deal, prosecutors will seek no more than a four-to-10 year prison sentence.

Winchester is being held on $20,000 bond, and will be sentenced at a later date.
