Allen Edwards has been selected as the new leader of the Wyoming Cowboys men's basketball program. He's the 21st head coach in team history.

Edwards was welcomed in a press conference Monday afternoon at the Wildcatter Stadium Club and Suites.

As one might imagine, Edwards is thrilled to have this chance to lead the Pokes. He introduced his family and thanked his wife, LaTanya; described the type of coach he is; said the Cowboys would continue down the same path they're on with some subtle changes; and believes the foundation is in place for future success.

Edwards takes over for Larry Shyatt, who stepped aside after six seasons, on Monday.
