Officials with Allegiant Air and the Casper-Natrona County International Airport celebrated an important milestone Friday.

Allegiant delivered its 50,000th passenger from Casper to Las Vegas in a Friday morning flight. Glenn Januska, the manager of the Casper-Natrona County International Airport, says, given the airport’s market size, the accomplishment is noteworthy.

It's kind of a significant milestone when you think about the population of our state," Januska said. "To have that many people recognize the value of the Alleigiant service, it's just really exciting."

Januska says Allegiant has been pleased with its service out of Casper, saying recent load factors have been high enough to necessitate additional service.

We see that with the addition of the Mesa service starting December 20th," Januska said. "We also see it particularly in the month of December - Allegiant, instead of flying twice weekly flights to Las Vegas, will increase (frequency) to four (flights) weekly."

Allegiant began its Casper to Las Vegas service in 2008.
