An Alabama woman wanted on at least 42 warrants in Wyoming and Utah, was captured after leading law enforcement officials on a chase before crashing her car in downtown Riverton.

Shortly after 5pm on Monday, August 12th, a Hot Springs County Sheriff's Deputy attempted to pull over a vehicle, driven by 34-year old Jamie Cleghorn south of Thermopolis, but she fled.

A chase ensued south on US Highway 20 towards Shoshoni, then west on US Highway 26 towards Riverton.

Troopers from the Wyoming Highway Patrol joined the chase, and attempted to spike Cleghorn's vehicle multiple times, but she eluded all attempts.

Once she got into downtown Riverton, she tried to turn west on Main Street, but then she sideswiped one vehicle, hit a curb, crossed over 5 lanes and rolled her vehicle, hitting a gas meter and a power pole in the process.

Cleghorn was airlifted to a hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Three other occupants in the vehicle were not hurt.

Law enforcement officials say Cleghorn is wanted on various charges, including identity theft, passing counterfeit money, child abuse and giving pornography to children under the age of 10.
