A Natrona County man is accused of strangling his girlfriend and trying to stop her from calling for help.

Thirty eight year old Aaron Harmon has been charged with two felony counts of strangulation, one misdemeanor count of domestic battery and one misdemeanor count of interfering with a 911 call.

Investigators with the Natrona County Sheriff's Office say on Saturday night (February 27th), deputies met with the victim who told them that Harmon had beat her up at their residence, on the 10000 block of Chameleon Street.

Deputies noticed swelling, redness and blood on the victim, who said the incident started when she confronted Harmon about another woman.

Harmon then attacked the victim, and smashed her cell phone when she tried to call 911.

When he let go, she tried to run to bathroom, where Harmon followed and attacked again.

The victim was able to get to the basement of the residence and asked a friend down there to call for help.

Harmon followed and attacked again, and the friend witness that attack.

The victim was able to escape, fled the scene in her vehicle and went to a neighbor's residence to call for help.

Harmon is awaiting trial on $30,000 bond, and could face up to five years in prison on each of the strangulation charges if convicted.
