THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RIVERTON HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR A PORTION OF CENTRAL WYOMING...INCLUDING
THE FOLLOWING AREAS...CASPER MOUNTAIN...GREEN MOUNTAINS AND
RATTLESNAKE RANGE AND NATRONA COUNTY LOWER ELEVATIONS.

* FROM NOON MDT TODAY THROUGH LATE TONIGHT

* RAIN SHOWERS WITH SLOW MOVING EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS THIS
AFTERNOON AND EVENING WILL HAVE THE POTENTIAL OF PRODUCING MORE
HEAVY RAIN FALLING ON TOP OF ALREADY SATURATED GROUND.
WIDESPREAD 1 TO 3 INCH RAINFALL AMOUNTS WERE REPORTED WITH THE
RAINFALL YESTERDAY IN THE WIND RIVER MOUNTAINS AND LANDER
FOOTHILLS...SIMILAR AMOUNTS WERE OBSERVED WITH SOME OF THE
HEAVIER THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AFTERNOON. THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF
PRODUCING SIMILAR AMOUNTS OF RAIN ARE POSSIBLE TODAY...FLASH
FLOODING COULD OCCUR QUICKLY IF ONE OF THESE STORMS WERE TO MOVE
OVER SOME OF THE SAME AREAS.

* FLASH FLOODING OF URBAN AREAS AND SMALL STREAMS WILL BE POSSIBLE
AS WELL AS SOME AREA ROADS WITH POOR DRAINAGE. FIRE BURN SCARS
LIKE THE SHEEPHERDER HILL SCAR WILL BE PRONE TO
MUDSLIDES...WHILE ROADS THROUGH STEEP CANYONS WILL BE
SUSCEPTIBLE TO ROCK AND MUD SLIDES AS WELL.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
