One of two Arizona men is not contesting charges in which he's accused of being involved in a beating case which resulted in the death of another man.

David Watson Junior has pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor charges of reckless endangering and one felony charge of aiding and abetting.

Casper Police say in November 2014, there was a fight at a hotel on the 900 block of West Yellowstone.

Gary Jefferson of New Mexico died of injuries sustained in the brawl, while Kameron Begay went to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Witnesses told police that all the men involved had been drinking earlier and someone had made disrespectful comments to another.

Watson and his co-defendant Dwayne Bahe claimed self-defense at the time, and attempted to leave the state.

Before they crossed the state line, they were contacted by investigators and returned to Casper and to surrender to authorities.

As part of a plea deal, prosecutors will not seek any prison time for Watson, but could ask for a suspended jail sentence with a term of probation.

Prosecutors say testimony from witnesses has changed since the time of the incident, because they were intoxicated at the time, and that can make it difficult to prove more serious charges.

Watson is free on $40,000 bond and will be sentenced at a later date.

Meanwhile, Bahe has pleaded guilty to charges connected to this case, and it waiting to be sentenced.
