The Recreation Division is pleased to announce that the groundbreaking for the new Mike Sedar Pool will take place at 781 College Drive this coming Friday, May 22nd at 10:30am.

The recently demolished pool, located in Mike Sedar Park, was built in 1964. Over the last several years, the pool has had significant mechanical and structural issues that have contributed to the increased maintenance and operational costs. In 2013, the old facility was demolished in preparation for the new outdoor pool facility.

The new Mike Sedar Pool will include a lazy river, spray features, play structure, and a slide. The construction will include the pool, lifeguard room with dedicated first aid space, locker room/restroom facility, mechanical room, irrigation and landscaping. The project will cost 4.276 million dollars and will be funded primarily with One Cent sales tax funds.

The project is being completed with the services of Ohlson Lavoie Collaborative Architects for design and construction oversight and Caspar Building Systems, Inc. for site construction. Construction is scheduled to be completed by May 20th, 2016.
