A Mills man is accused of going too far with his girlfriend.

Forty-five year old John Kosmata has been charged with one count of first degree sexual assault.

Investigators with the Mills Police Department say on Sunday, February 8th, Kosmata had returned home intoxicated, and physically beat the victim.

He then ordered her to undress and go to the bedroom, where he then used a number of sexual toys on her, causing her to bleed

Kosmata also stabbed her with a fork, and then cut off a small piece of her hair.

The victim estimated the abuse continued into Monday, and Kosmata also told her to drink a glass of wine.

During the assault, the victim's eye was bruised, and Kosmata told her to call in sick to work for two days.

On Wednesday, she was allowed to go to work, but was instructed that if anyone asked about her injuries, to say she fell in the bathtub and hit her head.

A co-worker asked the victim about the eye, and she later admitted what had happened and went to the hospital.

Law enforcement was then contacted and the victim said she was in an abusive relationship.

When interviewed, Kosmata admitted to the various sexual acts, and the hair cutting.

When asked if he could have gone too far, he said that if he hurt the victim and was in a police station, the yes he went too far.

Kosmata is being held on $50,000 bond awaiting trial, and could face five-to-50 years in prison if convicted.

At the time of the incident, he was out of bond for an unrelated aggravated assault case.
