Ribbon-Cutting For New Play Structure Set For Thursday
The city of Casper is getting ready to formally open a new playground at the west-side Nancy English Park.
Casper parks manager Dan Coryell said the new play structure replaces a former structure at the site.
“I usually keep a top 10 list of all of our current play structures in town – Nancy English was one of the oldest ones and one of the most damaged,” Coryell said. “It was No. 1 on our list.”
Coryell said the new playground will feature swings, three slides and a tunnel.
“It’ll be worlds better than the old one,” Coryell said. “It has a bigger fall area, a bigger play area – we had to extend it by about 30 feet on one side to add a bay of swings. It’s a little bit bigger of a structure, and a lot newer.”
Coryell also said the playground was paid for with one-cent sales tax funds.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Residents can find the new play structure near the corner of West 23rd Street and South O’Dell Avenue.
