A Colorado man has been arrested for promoting sex with a minor.

Thirty-year old Joseph Dawson of Aurora, has been charged with promoting prostitution, sexual servitude of a minor and sexual exploitation of children.

Investigators with the Casper Police Department say on Saturday June 21st, members of the Police Operations Support Team (PORT), contacted a female advertising escort service on-line.

An undercover detective arranged a meeting with an escort at a hotel, and when the escort arrived, she exited a vehicle with Colorado license plates, but the driver stayed behind.

When the bust was made, Police learned that the escort was a minor and was listed as a missing endangered person with the National Crime Information Center.

Officers then found Dawson and arrested him.

When questioned, Dawson admitted he had purchased the minor from another male by means of cash promises, and that Dawson could keep 10% of the profits made.

He also admitted to assisting working girls, knew the prostitution business and had brought two additional girls to Casper from Colorado (unknown ages), for the sole purpose of prostitution.

Dawson is being held on $25,000 bond awaiting trial, and could face up to three years in prison on the promoting prostitution charge, up to five years in prison on the sexual servitude of a minor charge, and five-to-12 years in prison for the sexual exploitation of a minor charge if convicted.
