CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Six Wyoming employers have been nominated for the 2012 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award.

The Freedom Award is the Department of Defense's highest recognition for employers supporting members of the National Guard and Reserve.

The Defense Department has received 3,236 nominations nationwide. Up to 15 recipients will be announced this summer and honored in Washington, D.C. in September.

Guard and Reserve members, or family members acting on their behalf, can nominate their civilian employers for the Freedom Award.

The Wyoming nominees are: Cameco Resources in Cheyenne, Dr. Carol Fischer of Cheyenne, Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Church & Dwight Co. in Green River and Jackson Hole Express Lube.
