Wyoming Reads, the state-wide literacy celebration, will bring about 1000 1st graders and accompanying adults to the Natrona County Public Library and the Nicolaysen Art Museum Tuesday. Wyoming Reads provides free books to 1st graders as part of the event.

Library Spokesperson, Brenda Thompson says the idea is to recognize student's reading skills attained during the school year and encourage them to continue reading over the summer.

"So its a really great organization that's doing it.  The Sue Jorgensen Library Foundation provides the books and there's lots of folks around the county involved in being celebrity readers or supporting the event in some way or another."

To accommodate the crowd as they move between the library and the museum, Beech Street will close from 9 a.m. to about 1 p.m. Bus stops will be moved over to Durbin Street. Parking lots will be closed along with public access to computers at the library during the event.
